Located in Edgbaston, the 3.43-acre site has lain vacant for over a decade.
In that time there was a significant fire in 2019 followed by demolition and site clearance works in 2022.
Wavensmere is aiming to construct 165 new houses and apartments on the site, and is seeking feedback from local residents prior to submitting a planning application.
Glancy Nicholls Architects and planning consultancy RPS Tetra Tech have been appointed by Wavensmere to design the scheme.

Their proposal is for 75 three-bedroom townhouses and 90 one and two-bedroom apartments, with private communal space for residents and a children’s play area.
“We are thrilled to be selected to reanimate this landmark site, which holds so many memories for those who grew up and socialised in Edgbaston,” said James Dickens, managing director at Wavensmere Homes.
“We are consulting with stakeholders and welcome comments and feedback from local people to ensure this prime site is redeveloped in the most sustainable way."
